Letitia L. Ballance, DDS
Owner
Dr. Ballance was born and raised in Waynesville NC and is a 1982 graduate of Tuscola Senior High School. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene with academic honors in 1992 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1995. While attending dental school, she was chosen to be a member of the 1991 UNC Dental Mexico Project, providing dental care to underserved children in Mexico. Dr. Ballance is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Association of Women Dentists, and NC Dental Society and is a Lifetime Member of the North Carolina General Alumni Association.
Andrew J. Mramor, DDS
Andrew J. Mramor, DDS, graduated magna cum laude from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry and completed a one-year general practice residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
He has over 20 years of service in dentistry with a diverse range of clinical and work experiences, but he concentrated most of his career on treating children and young adult patients and those with special health care needs that require sedation and/or general anesthesia.
For nearly 15 years, he served full time as the clinical director and staff dentist of a unique program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania whose exclusive mission was to serve these patients. He gained extensive experience—both clinically and administratively—during his tenure there and became a leader in the profession in total number of patients treated for comprehensive dental services under general anesthesia.
This commitment to his profession supported his candidacy for Fellow with the Special Care Dentistry Association, which he obtained in 2019. He moved to Waynesville and joined the team of Carolina West Dental in June to continue his service to the community by providing access to comprehensive dental services for patients (ages 1-21) that require general anesthesia in the WNC area.
Growing up in Appalachian Ohio and his passion for the mountains and great outdoors, makes Western North Carolina the perfect fit for this next chapter in his career path. He will likely be found at a nearby lake or on a hiking trail during his time off.
Vivian Nguyen, DMD
Dr. Vivian Nguyen is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Cum Laude honors in 2017. She graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 2021 while receiving the Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health award from the American Association of Public Health Dentistry. She is originally a native of Greenville, NC. Dr. Vivian has practiced in various clinics located throughout NC including Sylva, Elizabeth City, Davidson County, and Statesville. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, NC Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She believes it is important to stay educated on the ever-changing advancements in dentistry through CE courses and connecting with colleagues. Outside of dentistry, Dr Nguyen likes to try new restaurants, cook new recipes, dance, and travel.
